Muslim Law Board seeks Presidential intervention on Waqf Law, plans June 13 human chain across Bengal

A delegation from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board met West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday to submit a memorandum regarding the Waqf law. The delegation urged the Governor to convey their concerns to the President of India, stating the need for central intervention in the matter related to the protection of Waqf properties.

The Board stated that Waqf properties are religious and charitable in nature, and highlighted the importance of safeguarding them from any violations. It emphasized that necessary legal and administrative measures must be taken to ensure their protection, as these assets hold community significance.

To further the movement, the Board announced a state-wide protest on June 13, where human chains will be formed across West Bengal. The campaign aims to draw public attention and reinforce the demand for ensuring the security of Waqf assets.
